Festival Insider ("we", "us") is a festival travel guide website operated from the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what your rights are under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The short version
- We don't have user accounts, and we don't sell or share your data.
- Browsing the site requires no personal data and sets no tracking cookies from us.
- If you contact us or contribute, we keep what you send us so we can reply and credit you.
What we collect and why
Contact and contribution forms
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, and message. Form submissions are processed by Formspree (Formspree Inc., USA), which forwards them to our email. We use this data only to reply to you and — if you're contributing to a guide — to credit you in the way you've asked. Formspree's own privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Our Write for Us contribution form is provided by Tally (Tally BV, Belgium). When you submit it, Tally processes the details you enter — your name, email address, and what you'd like to contribute — together with the address of the page you submitted it from, and makes them available to us. We use this data in the same way as contact-form data. Tally's privacy policy is at tally.so/help/privacy-policy.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and does not track you across sites. It shows us aggregate page views only.
Fonts
This site loads the Roboto typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests the font files, Google receives your IP address as part of that request. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request data as necessary to serve the site and protect it from abuse, acting as our processor.
Legal basis
We process contact-form data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to your enquiry) and, for published contributor credits, with your consent. You can withdraw consent for a credit at any time and we will remove or anonymise it.
How long we keep data
Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and maintain a record of contributions, then deleted. Contributor credit lines remain on published guides until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to or restrict our processing of it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data — for example, adding a newsletter or affiliate links — we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
